For God so loved the world, that He gave  his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

TRADE IN SERVICES MEETING

Hoteliers and Tour Operators met with Adam Dunlop, Caribbean Council, on Tuesday April 15th, 2003 at the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Commerce  to provide input for a study which would assess how the interests of the Caribbean Tourism Sector can best be promoted in international trade negotiations (the WTO Services negotiations under the GATS Agreement, the ACP/EU Trade Negotiations,  the FTAA Negotiations and the Canada-Caricom Negotiation).

The focus of the study is specifically to match the trading problems of the Caribbean Tourism Industry with the issues under negotiation in the four sets of trade negotiations.

We thank members for their support as attendance at the meeting was very good.

We shall keep you abreast of  developments.

CARIBBEAN HOTEL INDUSTRY CONFERENCE (CHIC) 2003

'The Unconventional Convention'

June 22-25, 2003

Barceló Bávaro Convention Center,

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

For those of you who regularly attend our annual conference, this is CHIC like-you've-never-seen-it-before.  And if you've never been to CHIC before, you'll be glad you did - and you'll be coming back for more.

The program, the same for many, many years, is completely new

Check it out at www.cha-chic.org

*   The topics are sassy and daring, unlike the stuffy, conventional sessions of old...because drastic times call for drastic measures.  Here's a peek :

·      (I'll Take 1,000) Tourists-to-Go (How do we get them now? How the travel industry has changed. Smart ways to drive your business in today's ever-changing travel environment)

·        On-line Dating, and Then Some (Smarter and savvier online marketing can work for you!)

·      Up to Snuff: What's In and What's Out (How the Caribbean Compares. Your Product Standards Unveiled, Analyzed and Compared. Come if you dare!)

Put a Spin on It!  (Media workshop: find out from the experts what the media is looking for...believe us - it's not another white sand beach!)

And many more...

*The Allied Trade Show features an outdoors pavilion, for those hoteliers who don't want to sacrifice the invigorating fresh ocean air of Punta Cana while making business contacts and checking out the services and products of the hotel and restaurant suppliers who have made the Caribbean their area of expertise.

Punta Cana's relaxed, informal atmosphere stimulates networking and camaraderie - it's a chance to get away and concentrate on the future of our business and how to apply it back home.
