This event represented the culmination of collaborative efforts amongst various stakeholders all committed to strengthening the approach to the management of the invasive lionfish in Trinidad & Tobago through innovative and sustainable culinary solutions. Stakeholders included: the IMA, the THRTA, MIT Sloan School of Management, Food Network's Extreme Chef Terry French and the organizers of the Tobago International Game Fishing Tournament.

Chef Joe Brown (Jaffa), supported by the T&T National Culinary Team (and Caribbean National Team of the Year 2016), prepared over 12 culinary and beverage offerings exclusively using fresh lionfish which was supplied through IMA's Lionfish Derby which occurred last weekend in Tobago (www.facebook.com/events/1140782935943967/)

Speakers at the event included: Ms Beverly Khan (Deputy Permanent Secretary - Ministry of Planning and Development); Ms. Toylan Arneaud (Director (Ag.) - IMA); Professor Renee Richardson-Gosline (MIT Sloan School of Management); Mr Brian Frontin (CEO, THRTA) and Chef Joe Brown (Patron of Jaffa at the Oval).

Several hoteliers and restauranteurs who attended the event have already expressed an interest in placing lionfish on their menus so look forward to experiencing this delicious and nutritious fish very soon!
